Parity claimed on the Supervisory Board
Kühne Holding wants a second seat on Hapag-Lloyd's Supervisory Board
Now that Kühne Holding, together with its subsidiary Kühne Maritime GmbH, has held a stake of over 30 percent in Hapag-Lloyd AG since the end of March 2020, it is claiming a second seat on the company's Supervisory Board. This is also intended to establish parity with the two representatives of the Chilean shareholder and one representative each of the Qatari and Saudi Arabian shareholders.
Kühne Holding proposes its major shareholder, Prof. Dr. h.c. Klaus-Michael Kühne, for election to the Supervisory Board of Hapag-Lloyd AG. Since 2008, he has been committed to the strong anchoring of the globally operating traditional shipping company in Hamburg with his significant and long-term commitment.
Kuehne Holding AG holds a majority stake in Kuehne + Nagel International AG, a 30-percent stake in the leading German container liner shipping company Hapag-Lloyd and a 5-percent stake in Signa Prime Selection AG. Furthermore, Kuehne Holding AG has a real estate portfolio in Australia, Germany, Canada and Switzerland and is involved in the top hotel industry in Majorca and Hamburg.
