Hapag-Lloyd holds talks with United Arab Shipping Company

Hamburg, 21.04.2016 - Hapag-Lloyd AG (HL) and United Arab Shipping Company SAG (UASC) are currently in talks about possible forms of cooperation, including a merger of their respective container shipping activities, Hapag-Lloyd announced today.

In the event of a combination of the container shipping activities, the parties assume a relative valuation of the two companies of 72% (HL) to 28% (UASC), subject to a mutually satisfactory conclusion of negotiations and mutual due diligence. No binding agreement has yet been reached between the companies and there is no certainty that the discussions will lead to a final agreement, the company writes.
