Hapag-Lloyd adjourns Annual General Meeting

Hamburg, 30.05.2016 -

The Annual General Meeting scheduled for June 1 at 10 a.m. in the Mehr! Theater am Großmarkt has been canceled and postponed to a later date. This was decided by the company's Executive Board and Supervisory Board. The already publicly communicated talks between Hapag-Lloyd AG (HL) and United Arab Shipping Company SAG (UASC) on a possible merger of their respective container shipping activities would possibly require changes to the agenda of the Annual General Meeting in the event of a successful conclusion of the talks. These could no longer have been taken into account if the Annual General Meeting had been held on June 1, 2016 due to the requirements and deadlines under stock corporation law. The Annual General Meeting of Hapag-Lloyd AG will take place in August 2016 at the latest. The Executive Board intends to publish the relevant invitation, including the agenda, in the Federal Gazette in good time.
