UPS receives GDP certification

UPS has been awarded GDP certification for its standards in the transportation of non-refrigerated healthcare products. This means that the company meets the standards set by the European Union for the shipment of non-refrigerated healthcare products intended for human use.

This certification by the German Association for the Certification of Management Systems (DQS) is intended to reassure customers in the healthcare sector that their sensitive, non-temperature-controlled consignments are handled with the utmost care right through to delivery.

"Packages from the healthcare sector containing medicines or medical products place the highest demands on handling and transportation - it's often about so much more than just a package," says Frank Sportolari, President of UPS Germany. "When it comes to healthcare, we at UPS recognize that it's about patients, not a package. This certification benefits all UPS customers and confirms what we and others have known for decades: UPS's intelligent global logistics network is designed to meet our customers' exacting requirements."
