Expansion for more storage capacity
TST invests 10 million euros in Dortmund
The logistics service provider Trans Service Team (TST) is expanding its storage capacity at the Dortmund site to create more space for Intersnack's products and another food customer.
The Worms-based logistics company plans to put a second hall into operation there by the summer. TST is thus expanding its existing warehouse and logistics space by 20,000 to a total of 44,000 square meters and is investing around ten million euros in the project. The building will also have its own office space. One of the advantages of the site is that it is located in the immediate vicinity of Intersnack's production facility for Felix's nut range in Dortmund-Schwerte. "The Dortmund site is our third-largest distribution center in Europe," says Jan van den Broek, Intersnack's Managing Director for Operations. "It is an important warehouse, as we store and ship our products here together with Felix across all companies." TST currently manages twelve logistics locations in North Rhine-Westphalia. In Dortmund, TST not only handles the storage of finished goods on behalf of Intersnack, but also additional logistics tasks. With a current storage capacity of 40,000 pallets, the logistics center connects the German food trade as well as retail customers in France, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. "The site offers ideal logistical conditions for Intersnack's requirements thanks to its direct connection to production and its convenient location," says TST Managing Director Frank Schmidt.
