Since 1946, the family-run forwarding company has developed into an international logistics provider specializing in the handling and transport of liquid goods. The roots of the successful logistics company are very present in Thomas Hoyer's mind: "My father, Walter Hoyer, founded the company in the ruins of Hamburg. He had a vision and a clear goal in mind. Sometimes I still think today, 'What would he say now? Thomas Hoyer's apprenticeship began while he was still at school, when he regularly came to the head office in Hamburg after school. He later studied in St. Gallen in Switzerland, followed by an apprenticeship in freight forwarding. After two years abroad, he finally took over responsibility for the foreign divisions at Hoyer in 1980. From 1986, he steered the fortunes of the company as Managing Director until he took over as Chairman of the Advisory Board in 2007.

Thomas Hoyer has close ties to the company. "It's my passion and a matter close to my heart," says Hoyer. Together with his sisters, he considers his task to be complete when the company has been successfully handed over to the next generation. He gets involved politically and socially. "I show a clear edge and don't mince my words. It may not always be diplomatic, but you know where you stand with me." Hoyer is involved in numerous associations, including as a board member of the Logistics Committee European Petro Chemical Association, as a board member of HUPAC and as a board member of the Hamburg Freight Forwarders. In his private life, Thomas Hoyer pursues his interest in politics and history as well as his passion for hunting and nature and for 18th and 19th century paintings. He can often be seen on his bicycle on the way to the company headquarters in Hamburg, where his door is still open to every employee today.
