The Frankfurt-based refrigerated logistics company invests
Thermologistic takes over Frankfurt Road Cargo GmbH
Thermologistic Frankfurt GmbH has taken over Frankfurt Cargo Road GmbH out of insolvency. The logistics company is thus continuing its expansion course. With the takeover of the transport service provider, the number of employees at the Frankfurt site has increased by 9. Frankfurt Road Cargo now employs 2 office staff and 7 drivers. Thermologistic GmbH is also taking over 13 mega trailers, 7 tarpaulin trailers and 6 GDP-certified refrigerated trailers from the insolvent company. The latter are equipped with telematics and C-log systems.
Managing Director Bernd Schmied sees this step as an important milestone in the expansion of his company. "With the short-term takeover of Frankfurt Road Cargo, we will expand our market position at Frankfurt Airport even more than planned. In merging the two companies, the focus is on ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of existing business relationships."
The acquisition of the customer base opens up new opportunities for Thermologistik GmbH at Frankfurt Airport, particularly in the areas of pharmaceutical and engine transportation. The newly acquired vehicles perfectly complement the company's fleet portfolio and are to be deployed in German and European traffic with immediate effect.
Bernd Schmied continues: "By taking over the company, we have an even broader base and can achieve better capacity utilization. In addition, having our own equipment offers the advantage that we have more control over the respective transport services. We are thus opening up new customer groups and strengthening our market presence."
As a result of the acquisition in the current financial year, the refrigerated logistics provider is expecting an additional 1,000 transports. Around 70 percent of these will be pharmaceutical transports and around 30 percent will be engine transports. Thermologistik expects an increase in turnover of 25 percent for 2020.
