New members also for the Supervisory Board
Theresa Meyer now also on the Management Board of Meyer & Meyer
With effect from January 1, the Supervisory Board of the Osnabrück-based fashion logistics company has appointed Theresa Meyer as Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) to the now three-member Management Board.
The 30-year-old economist has been on board since 2019 after working for an international management consultancy and has since provided significant support to the previous Management Board members Peter Schnitzler (CFO) and her brother Maximilian Meyer (CEO). This means that the fourth generation is now at the helm of the company together with Peter Schnitzler. There are further changes to the Supervisory Board: Thomas Müllerschön took over as Chairman of the five-member Supervisory Board from Michael Meyer in December 2020, meaning that the latter has passed the baton to his children in full.
Theresa Meyer will be primarily responsible for the transformation process at Meyer & Meyer and will focus on personnel and organizational development, digitalization and the strategic orientation of the company, which was founded in 1902. "We are delighted to be able to appoint another family member to the Management Board in Theresa Meyer, who will shape the future direction of Meyer & Meyer in the spirit of the shareholder family with clear values and close proximity to the employees," says the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Thomas Müllerschön.
Further new appointments to the Supervisory Board
Prof. Dr. Ingmar Ickerott, Ortwin Nast and Dietmar Hemsath are also newly appointed to the Supervisory Board. Rolf Meyer completes the Board. He will remain Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board as before. "As part of the selection process, it was important to us shareholders that the new Supervisory Board members are familiar with the structures of a medium-sized family business and know and understand our industry. We are delighted that we have now found real experts with different, forward-looking focuses," explains CEO and Chairman of the Management Board Maximilian Meyer.
The 52-year-old new Chairman Thomas Müllerschön has long held the role of an external board member in a family business and has a strong focus on strategy and finance. Prof. Dr. Ingmar Ickerott is Professor of Logistics and Dean at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. Ortwin Nast is the outgoing CEO of the international Hamburg-based logistics and family business Hoyer and has previously worked exclusively in family businesses. The fourth new member, Dietmar Hemsath, works for Georgsmarienhütte GmbH near Osnabrück as Managing Director of Accounting, Finance and Purchasing.
