Not at Chiemsee for the first time

Martin Schrüfer,

Successful 11th Innovative Digital Logistics Symposium

For the first time in the 20-year history of the Symposium Logistik Innovativ, the event did not take place as a face-to-face event in Prien am Chiemsee. Due to the current situation, it was organized as a digital event with around 300 spectators from the fields of business, science, politics and public administration.

The event was opened with a welcoming address by Otto Lederer, District Administrator of Rosenheim and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of LKZ Prien GmbH. This was followed by a welcome address from Kerstin Schreyer, Bavarian State Minister for Housing, Construction and Transport, who gave an overview of the current challenges in Bavarian, national and cross-border freight transport.

Karl Fischer, Managing Director of LKZ Prien GmbH and organizer of the Logistik Innovativ symposium, gave an insight into current practical projects that contribute to CO2 reduction in freight transport. LKZ has been involved in national and international logistics projects for over 20 years. The focus is on innovation, sustainability and process optimization.

Johann Bögl, shareholder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Max Bögl Group, gave a keynote speech entitled "Can goods also float? - Innovative freight transport with a magnetic levitation train", gave an insight into the TSB (Transportsystem Bögl) product, which is already being used in passenger transport and is now also to be used in freight transport as "TSB Cargo".

Bögl also gave an insight into another project in which he is currently supporting Elon Musk, the Tesla founder from the USA: The Tesla Gigafactory in Brandenburg near Berlin. A mega project that is due to be completed by the middle of next year, which can be achieved thanks to prefabricated parts, for which Bögl is a specialist, and the transportation of these parts by rail with its good infrastructure from various plants across Germany to Brandenburg.

The other speakers, Albert Bastius, Chief Operating Officer of TX Logistik AG, and Franz Blum, Managing Director of Vega International Car-Transport and Logistic-Trading Gesellschaft m.b.H., presented the "NiKRASA - VEGA r2L combination" project carried out jointly with the LKZ. The combination of the two innovative systems has made it possible to transport all types of rubber-tyred vehicles by rail.
