Strategic partnership
Store and online retail linked
The Hamburg drugstore chain BUDNI (Budnikowsky GmbH & Co. KG) is becoming a strategic partner in the parcel store network of the international parcel and express service provider DPD. With immediate effect, there will be a Pickup parcel store in almost 100 BUDNI stores in the Hamburg metropolitan region and in Berlin.
Both companies are aiming for a long-term partnership. This was preceded by a one-year test phase in 20 BUDNI stores in Hamburg.
"We want to make our customers' lives easier and accept parcels like a good neighbor. We also see this as an opportunity to reduce the burden on roads and the environment," explains Christoph Wöhlke, Managing Director of Budnikowsky GmbH & Co.
Michael Knaupe, Chief Communications & Customer Experience Officer of DPD Germany, adds: "We are delighted that the BUDNI stores are complementing our Germany-wide network. In BUDNI we have gained a partner who combines ideal locations and opening hours with a high level of quality and service awareness. The importance of parcel stores as a drop-off point will increase significantly in the coming years, which will lead more and more online shoppers to our partners' stores."
The partners want to further promote digital networking through dialog, for example on DPD's digital platforms. Another common concern is sustainable logistics. DPD transports all parcels completely climate-neutrally at no extra charge. In Hamburg city center, parcels are also delivered and collected completely emission-free using a large number of electric vehicles.
