Acquisition for Brexit
Rhenus acquires British freight forwarder Core Management Logistics
Rhenus Warehousing Solutions Europe took over the 3PL provider Core Management Logistics from Great Britain on January 3. The logistics company, which is based in Lutterworth in Leicestershire, offers warehouse logistics, pre-retail, forwarding and distribution services in the United Kingdom.
Core Management Logistics (CML) has three sites with over 45,000 square meters of covered warehouse space and bonded warehouse space in Lutterworth's Magna Park, one of the largest distribution parks in Europe. CML has been offering its customers flexible warehousing, multi-channel logistics, value-added services and freight forwarding solutions since 1990.
Core Management Logistics' warehouse locations are specially designed to meet the requirements of the growing e-commerce trade. CML is also the only British provider of "Green GOH", a transportation solution for hanging garments in containers.
"We regard the acquisition of Core Management Logistics as an investment in our expansion strategy in the UK," said Andreas Plikat, Managing Director of Rhenus Warehousing Solutions Europe. Rhenus Warehousing Solutions Europe already has logistics centers in Germany, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands and Poland. Mark Webb, Managing Director of CML, added: "Core Management Logistics is delighted to become part of the Rhenus Group. This will enable us to benefit from the strong global network, which will provide our customers with additional European solutions and transport capacities and offer our employees new development opportunities."
