Outsourcing project
Loxxess new logistics partner of René Lezard
The economic realignment of René Lezard Mode AG was initiated by the new management at the end of 2018. It provides for complex and cost-intensive processes to be simplified and outsourced. The management team led by Isabella Hierl, CEO of the Schwarzach-based textile retailer, sees this as a lever to increase earnings again, which have been declining in recent years.
In January 2019, the logistics and fulfillment service provider Loxxess AG, Unterföhring, emerged from the structured tender process as René Lezard's partner. Isabella Hierl explains the decision as follows: "Loxxess is a solid family business that is also innovative and competent in exactly the area in which we operate. The Bor site has everything we need for efficient, high-quality textile logistics: Know-how and employees, the special equipment for textile processing and the capacity and flexibility for our business."
The volume comprises an inventory of 90,000 pieces and around 400,000 pieces to be moved each year, which leave the warehouse for the sales channels. The collections are available in the RENÉ LEZARD stores, the RENÉ LEZARD online store and at upmarket specialist retailers. They are sold in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, CIS, the Middle East and Canada.
After the operational start in July 2019, Loxxess will be responsible for incoming goods processing and quality control, inventory management for flat and hanging goods, picking, packing and shipping goods to the various distribution channels including export customs clearance, returns processing as well as value-added services and processing work (e.g. tunneling, dolls, steam ironing, etc.) from the Bor site near the Czech-German border.
"Of course, quality is our top priority: the goods have to be perfectly prepared, i.e. ironed, labeled and packaged. The outgoing orders are picked individually according to the different requirements of the sales channels and customers. Around 60 percent are shipped hanging. Loxxess has convincingly demonstrated its expertise in this demanding logistics process," says Hierl.
Dr. Claus-Peter Amberger, CEO of Loxxess AG, explains the new partnership: "We are delighted that René Lezard has chosen Loxxess. Efficient and economical processing combined with high quality are advantages that we can and will bring to the table as an outsourcing partner."
