Ivan Hofmann becomes CEO of GLS US

Amsterdam/Sewickley (USA), 27.06.2018 -

appointed Ivan Hofmann (71) as CEO of GLS US with immediate effect. General Logistics Systems provides parcel services and also offers express and logistics services. Hofmann will lead the GLS Group's US activities. He has over 35 years of experience in the transportation industry and has held various management positions in both sales and operations. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of FedEx Ground, a position he held until his retirement in 2004. He was then involved in the founding of ETC & Associates, a consulting company in the transportation sector. Hofmann is also a member of several boards, primarily in companies in the transportation sector.

"I look forward to building and expanding GLS' presence in the US, in line with the strategy of careful and targeted geographic expansion," said Ivan Hofmann. "At the same time, I will oversee the integration of GSO and Postal Express, which were acquired in October 2016 and April 2017 respectively."

In his new role, which will be part-time, Hofmann will report to Rico Back, CEO of Royal Mail, the UK's national postal service.
