In addition to Fiege, the companies envelio GmbH from Cologne (Start-ups category) and Hermann Ullrich GmbH & Co. KG from Solingen (SMEs/trades) were awarded first place. Pinkwart explained: "The jury has chosen three worthy winners who have not allowed themselves to be driven by digitalization, but have instead become drivers of digitalization themselves. They show how dynamic and digital North Rhine-Westphalia already is and thus act as impressive role models for other start-ups, SMEs and large companies."

Convincing partnership with start-ups

Fiege impressed the jury with its close cooperation with start-ups, according to the ministry's press release. Together with the company Magazino, Fiege develops robots for use in logistics. The digital economy prize was awarded during the RuhrSummit in Bochum. "We are delighted. It is a wonderful confirmation of our approach of boldly breaking new ground and actively shaping developments in the future-oriented logistics sector," said Jens Fiege
