Contribution to relieving the traffic infrastructure

The two companies have founded a joint venture for this purpose, as announced by Angela Titzrath, Chairwoman of HHLA's Executive Board, and Dirk Ahlborn, founder and CEO of HTT, at a joint event in Hamburg on Wednesday. Angela Titzrath: "With the Hyperloop transport system, HHLA is pursuing the goal of developing a further building block for efficient logistics mobility solutions in Germany. As a gateway to the future, we want to use innovative approaches to help relieve the traffic infrastructure in and around the Port of Hamburg and use the capacities of our terminal facilities even more efficiently."

Transport capsules accelerated to high speed

The Hyperloop concept: people and goods are to be transported through a tube at high speed. The transport capsules used are accelerated to speeds of up to 1,000 km/h and even more with the help of magnetic levitation technology in a tunnel in which a partial vacuum prevails. A test track for the transportation of people and goods is currently under construction in Toulouse, France.
