Frankfurt am Main, 08.04.2016 - The shortage of skilled workers has a direct impact on the performance and competitiveness of logistics service providers. In order to determine the current challenges of HR work more precisely, employees of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (FRA-UAS) have developed an online survey. Managing directors and HR managers have until April 30 to take part in the survey.

The results of the study as well as effective ideas and solutions for HR work will be presented at the first HR Summit Logistics & Mobility on June 2 in Frankfurt am Main. In a current online study, the Center for Logistics, Mobility and Sustainability (ZLMN) at FRA-UAS is investigating the fields of action of strategic HR work. The aim of the study, led by Prof. Dr. Kai-Oliver Schocke, is to develop sustainable strategies to attract and retain qualified specialists in the long term. To this end, the study examines the necessary applicant qualifications as well as employer branding measures. The opportunities of further training as a means of employee retention and the effects of digitalization on work processes are also examined.

"Companies must become an employer brand with charisma if they want to find suitable employees," explains Prof. Dr. Kai-Oliver Schocke. "We are using our industry-specific study to analyze which methods can be used to achieve this." The results will be presented at the first HR Summit Logistics & Mobility on June 2 in Frankfurt am Main. In a subsequent panel discussion, Meyer Logistik Managing Director Markus Bappert, Marcus Gersinske from the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV), RMV Managing Director Dr. André Kavai and Elke Wasser from the Logistic Training Center will discuss the findings and their impact on day-to-day business. The survey ends on April 30, 2016 and is open to all HR managers and executives in the logistics and mobility sectors. Participants in the study will receive a discount on the admission price to the HR Summit Logistics & Mobility.
