Nationwide network
Hellmann becomes regional ambassador for refugees
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has also been part of the network for over five years and, with the appointment of Jutta Oeltjendiers, Training Officer Integration & Language, as a regional ambassador for the state of Lower Saxony, will play an important role in the network in future.
Thousands of people come to Germany every year to build a new life here. At the same time, the shortage of skilled workers poses increasing challenges for the German economy. In order to reconcile this situation in a future-oriented manner, the "Network Companies Integrate Refugees" has set itself the goal of actively supporting employers in the training and employment of refugees. The initiative of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has around 2,700 member companies across Germany that work together to implement an integrative HR policy.
As the central point of contact, her main task will be to promote the further networking of regional companies in order to encourage the exchange of experience and transfer of knowledge. At the same time, Jutta Oeltjendiers will contribute her expertise as a mediator between business and politics for the state of Lower Saxony.
"At Hellmann, we have had numerous initiatives for many years to integrate refugees and thus fulfill our social responsibility. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to tackle the shortage of skilled workers. I am very much looking forward to sharing my many years of experience with other companies and making Lower Saxony's economy even more inclusive. It is very important to me to give the often young refugees guidance. They often have enormous motivation and want to integrate quickly into the labor market and society," says Jutta Oeltjendiers, Training Officer Integration & Language, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Germany.
"Especially in times like these, it is very important to us as a company to show refugees prospects by actively integrating them into the labor market. We have many colleagues with a migration background, especially among our trainees and young employees, who have quickly settled in and found their feet thanks to the practical support of the NetzwerkES. I am delighted that Jutta Oeltjendiers, as a regional ambassador for the state of Lower Saxony, can now support other companies in implementing an inclusive HR policy," says Christa Stienen, Chief HR Officer, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
The Network Companies Integrate Refugees was founded in 2016 as a joint initiative of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. More than 2,700 companies have now joined the nationwide network in order to jointly promote the training and employment of refugees in a practical manner. The network's services, such as advice, information material, webinars, workshops and events, are free of charge, as is membership. Further information can be found at http://www.nuif.de
The concept of regional ambassadors was launched in 2019 to highlight regional characteristics from the vast wealth of experience of member companies and to build a network of experts who put labor market integration into practice and pass on their expertise to companies in the region. After one year, the regional ambassadors will appoint their successors in mid-2022.
