GLS launches new app

Create a GLS parcel label on your smartphone, pay by PayPal, credit card or SEPA direct debit and have the label scanned as a QR code on the device in the GLS ParcelShop - the new GLS app is designed to enable fast, paperless and cashless parcel shipping. It also navigates the user to the nearest GLS ParcelShop if required.

With shipment tracking, both the sender and recipient can keep an eye on the parcel while on the move. Recipients can also issue a drop-off authorization for their parcel with just a few clicks - for secure, contactless delivery.

All these functions can be used in the compact application of less than two MB without registration. Anyone who registers can also issue a general drop-off authorization, keep track of parcels received and dispatched and create an address book. The user account can also be used to access the login area of the GLS-ONE online shipping portal. The data is synchronized automatically.

The GLS app replaces its predecessor of the same name, which was launched in 2017. "With the GLS app, we want to offer mobile consumers access to our services that is always up-to-date and user-friendly - customer feedback is the most valuable source for this," says Dr. Karl Pfaff, CEO of GLS Germany.

The app is available for Apple smartphones with iOS 12 or higher and for Android smartphones with Android 7 or higher.
