Presence expanded
The approximately 50 jobs at the branch will be retained, and customers will continue to have the same contacts. "With this acquisition, we are strengthening our local presence," say Hans-Georg Geis and Wolfgang Geis, Managing Partners. "The location also focuses on international transportation, which is an ideal fit for our service portfolio in the region."

IDS network strengthened
Geis is further expanding the IDS network with the takeover of the site - the site, which was previously part of the general cargo cooperation 24plus, will work with IDS, Germany's largest general cargo cooperation, in future. "By handing over the Lichtenfels site to the Geis Group, we are strengthening the IDS network by making it even more closely meshed and efficient. Our cooperation partner Geis will offer IDS customers - and therefore also Kuehne + Nagel customers - an excellent service in Franconia. The sale of the Lichtenfels location is therefore a win-win for all parties involved," explains Nicholas Minde, member of the Management Board of Kuehne + Nagel Germany, responsible for overland transportation.
