Fiege expands site in Ibbenbüren

Space for something new: The expansion of the Fiege Mega Center in Ibbenbüren has been completed after around a year of construction. Since the beginning of July, the family-owned company from Greven in Westphalia has had an additional 30,000 square meters of logistics space available at its multi-user location in the northern Münsterland region. In total, the Fiege location in Ibbenbüren now offers around 155,000 square meters of logistics space. In Ibbenbüren, Fiege works for various customers, primarily from the fashion, consumer goods, industry and healthcare sectors - and enables its customers to closely link stationary retail and online trade through individual logistics solutions. The construction project was implemented by Klebl as general contractor together with Fiege Real Estate.

Detlev Hornhues, Fiege branch manager at the Mega Center Ibbenbüren, emphasizes the great significance of the site expansion: "The three additional hall sections are a milestone for our location. Thanks to the newly created logistics space, we as Fiege can meet our own growth requirements, but above all those of our customers. As a service provider, we can respond even more flexibly and individually to the wishes of our long-standing partners as well as our new customers. And we realize that our offer has come at exactly the right time, as the new hall sections have already been rented out."

Due to its favorable location, Ibbenbüren is ideally suited to supply strong economic regions - as far north as Bremen and Hanover and as far south as the Ruhr region. Jan Fiege, Managing Director Fiege Real Estate, says: "The multi-user center in Ibbenbüren was put into operation in 1992 and has been continuously developed since then, which is why the location still meets modern standards for logistics properties. Over the years, the facility has been used efficiently with changing customers and is now primarily an e-commerce location." Online retailers in particular are increasingly focusing on highly professional logistics processing, explains Jan Fiege, and the demand for logistics space where this can be achieved remains high. "We are therefore delighted to be able to offer this attractive space thanks to the expansion. Ibbenbüren is a very important location, especially for our omnichannel fulfillment concepts."
