Transport barometer
Consistently high demand for cargo space in Europe
The booming economy in the eurozone has led to continued high demand for transport capacity on the market in the third quarter of this year. IT specialist Timcom has analyzed the current market development using its transport barometer values.
The survey is based on the transport barometer values from Timocom's Smart Logistics System. "The demand for cargo space hardly fell at all in the summer months," says Timocom company spokesman Gunnar Gburek. "It is at a consistently high level." On average, there were 71 freight offers compared to 29 loading space offers on Europe's largest transport platform, which is part of TIMOCOM's Smart Logistics System, in the period from July to August.
No "summer dip"
In the third quarter, Timocm users posted 40 million freight and cargo space offers. There were 71 freight offers compared to 29 cargo space offers. "There was no summer dip this year either," Gburek comments on the figures. In addition, a seasonal increase in demand is expected in the coming weeks.
Due to the high demand, there are also delivery bottlenecks, the main cause of which is the lack of drivers. To counteract this, productivity can be improved by avoiding congestion and saving time at the loading ramp.
