"These are challenging times for all of us, but we have managed to continue the service for our customers without interruption. This was only possible thanks to the tireless efforts of all colleagues at DB Schenker and thanks to DB Schenker's solid international network," says Federico Girgenti, CEO of DB Schenker in Italy.

More than 1300 tons of overalls, safety goggles and co
In total, the delivery comprises more than 1,300 tons of overalls and protective goggles from various manufacturers in Shanghai and Hubei. DB Schenker collects the cargo there by truck. The freight is loaded onto the train at the container terminal in Xi'an. After twelve days and a journey of more than 10,000 kilometers via Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus, the train reaches Kaliningrad. From there, the containers are transported by ship to Rostock, from where they are again transported by train to DB Schenker's intermodal terminal in Verona. DB Schenker was thus able to reduce the total transportation time to just 15 days.

After customs clearance, the goods are distributed to healthcare facilities by truck using DB Schenker's full truckload service. This means that the complete door-to-door delivery, including packaging, customs clearance and documentation for the customer, comes from a single source. The first seven containers left Xi'an on April 15.
