BVL wants to become younger and more diverse

The 42nd Annual General Meeting of BVL took place under changed conditions due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. A small group of participants met on the premises of the BVL Campus in Bremen, while a larger group came together digitally via webinar technology.

Around 140 members had transferred their votes in advance to participants of the meeting who were present in Bremen, so that these voting rights could be exercised effectively.

Prof. Thomas Wimmer, Chairman of the BVL Board of Directors since March 12, 2020, and Uwe Peters, Managing Director of the BVL, reported on the association's work in 2019, gave an outlook on the expected course of 2020 and explained the coronavirus-related adjustments to the association's work. They also outlined the strategic direction for the association's future. The BVL is to become younger and more diverse in its committees and in the topics it addresses. It should have a greater presence in politics and society and emphasize that logistics offers solutions for major social and economic issues.

The review particularly highlighted the activities of the regional groups, the major events, in particular the German Logistics Congress, the projects of the start-up BVL.digital, the Logistics Day, the activities of MX Manufacturing Excellence and the "Die Wirtschaftsmacher" initiative with its overarching image campaign "Logistics Heroes".
The 2019 annual financial statements and the budget for 2020 were approved unanimously. The actions of the Executive Board and auditors were unanimously approved, with each abstaining.
