The three-storey logistics center covers an area of around 130,000 square meters. It will take over an important part of Amazon's logistics and distribution activities throughout Europe and significantly expand its capacities in the region. The new logistics facility is the fourth of its kind that Gazeley has completed for Amazon in Germany. Gazeley worked closely with Amazon to tailor the development of the new building to its needs. This includes three floors and a ceiling height of up to 20 meters. This allows greater flexibility to adapt the building's design to evolving requirements. The site also has parking spaces for employees and 56 loading bays.

The logistics property has sustainability features, including an intelligent LED lighting system, the use of water-saving devices and heat pump technology. It also has control systems that optimize energy consumption and natural lighting on all floors. The declared aim is to achieve DGNB Gold certification.

Thanks to its central location in East Westphalia, the distribution center offers good transport links to many European regions. The site is located directly on the A2 highway and therefore also connects the densely populated Ruhr area with Hanover and Bremen.

"We are delighted to be Amazon's partner of choice for the fourth time to implement the development of this type of fulfillment center. The approval process was very efficient. In close cooperation with the authorities, our construction partner Max Bögl and Amazon, we were able to ensure that the building is future-proof for the company's evolving requirements and was completed on schedule with the usual high quality," comments Ingo Steves, Managing Director for Northern Europe, Gazeley, on the completion of the logistics property, adding: "With the new logistics center, we are making a decisive contribution to the expansion of our customer's market position and, above all, to the economic development of the region. Amazon's new location will not only create more jobs, but also additional added value."
