Werit launches new PHOTONconnect product range

Werit Kunststoffwerke actually specializes in industrial packaging, among other things. Now the company is tapping into a new market segment: with PHOTONconnect, Werit is opening up a new product area whose components work with plastic fiber optic cables and are primarily used for data transmission.

Polymer optical fibers (POF) are an alternative to copper conductors as they are extremely robust and easy to assemble. The series consists of the products Connect Floor (underfloor system), ConnectOffice (energy columns for offices), ConnectMedia (video and audio signals), ConnectFlex (socket strips) and ConnectAccessoires (accessories). "The future-proof Ethernet technology used ensures fast data transmission in the network. Werit fiber optic cables are also easy to lay and install. The light pulses cannot be intercepted and there is no radiation, which guarantees safe use," adds Günther Mackens.
