Versatile and electric

Still is relaunching its RX 60-25/35 series. The industrial truck manufacturer presented it in Hamburg in mid-September. In terms of acceleration and with a travel speed of up to 21 kilometers per hour as well as improved lifting speeds, the RX 60 is set to set new standards in the 2.5 to 3.5 tonne weight class.

The truck concept is based on two motors in the drive axle, which are available in two performance classes. This has increased the drive motor power by 40 percent while simultaneously improving energy efficiency. The electric forklift truck has also been equipped with active cooling and shorter distances for power transmission. Still promises short response times and a high pulling force from the very first revolution with what the company claims is the highest handling truck in its class. The lifting speeds of the model series have also been improved: according to the company, the lift mast of the RX60 reaches 7.4 meters in just eleven seconds.

A dynamic all-rounder
The RX 60 can be used in a variety of ways with different attachments: for loading and unloading trucks from the side, for horizontal transport of load carriers, for stacking in racks with a lifting height of up to 7,390 millimetres and for order picking and staging goods. The electric forklift truck is also available with a full cab for outdoor use. A total of seven models are currently available in the standard and long frame versions as well as tele/niho and triple mast versions. The manufacturer has developed a version with a load center of 600 millimeters for transporting pallets lengthwise as well as bulky and heavy weights.

"There is no longer any reason not to drive an electric forklift truck."
"With the new RX 60-25/35 electric forklift truck series, Still is setting new standards in e-mobility in the field of industrial trucks. Using energy-efficient technologies, we have succeeded in developing an electric forklift truck for indoor and outdoor use for loads of up to 3.5 tons with extremely high performance and agility. We are thus promoting the trend towards more emission-free electric forklift trucks and supporting our customers in implementing their green logistics strategies and thus achieving their sustainability goals. With the new performance values of the RX 60 series, which we produce here in Hamburg, there is no longer any reason not to drive an electric forklift truck," explains Thomas A. Fischer, CSO Still. One of these performance values is the range of the electric forklift truck, which according to the company is the highest per battery charge in the entire segment. With the optional lithium-ion technology, even three-shift operations can be mastered without a spare battery. Operation in eco mode further reduces resource consumption. If, on the other hand, power peaks need to be managed, sprint mode provides an additional boost. Thanks to the new cooling system with robust fans, continuous operation in sprint mode is now also possible.

Performance at diesel forklift truck level
The drive concept in the front axle is based on two three-phase AC drives with 80-volt technology. In the standard version, these each generate an output of 8.5 kilowatts, while the high-performance drive axle with two 10.5 kilowatt motors is available as an option. Both motors have traction control and are driven in opposite directions at full steering lock. Overall, the RX 60 achieves driving performance on a par with diesel or LPG forklifts. The more powerful lifting engine in the high-performance version has also increased lifting speeds under load by over 20 percent.

Sophisticated product design for time-saving maintenance
Accessible components and Still's services are designed to guarantee the highest possible availability. The battery, which is replaced via a side door, is also easily accessible. The optimized battery door can be opened horizontally up to 180 degrees to the rear. This means that the battery can be changed in just a few minutes by just one person using an electric pallet truck.

Ergonomics and safety
When it comes to ergonomics, the truck scores points with a spacious driver's cab with generous leg and headroom and a low, wide access step. The slim mast and large windows provide good visibility and thus improve safety. Another safety feature: when the forklift is lowered, the parking brake is activated and the vehicle is automatically put into "sleep mode" and reactivated when climbing up again. Various other equipment options - including a direction indicator on the display or automatic speed reduction on bends - further increase safety.

Still easy control: important performance functions at a glance
The RX60 is also equipped with the Still easy control system. The on-board computer provides an overview of relevant information. The display and control unit is intended to function as a safety and communication center. The color display provides information on vehicle parameters and also gives the driver direct access to the driving and lifting programs, the battery remaining capacity indicator and other functions.

In times of digitalization, the possibility of networking should not be missing. The newcomer to the truck family has an optional interface for fleet management software such as Stills nexxt fleet.
