The latest generation of combustion engines

Powerful addition to the Linde Material Handling family

From now on, the pioneering 12XX generation IC engine-powered forklift trucks from Linde Material Handling (MH) can also move larger loads of 3.5 to five tons quickly and efficiently on their forks. With improved comfort, better visibility, protection systems for the driver and surroundings, two-way data exchange and a powerful drive, the diesel and LPG forklifts are designed to increase pallet handling.

"Internal combustion engine-powered trucks are still indispensable in certain areas of application," states Björn Walter, Senior Product Manager Counterbalance Trucks. "This is because fleet managers are convinced by advantages such as the uncomplicated refueling or the powerful Linde hydrostatic system, which can also be controlled sensitively," says the expert.

In contrast to the previous series, the new forklift models have a load center of 600 millimeters as standard. This ensures high residual capacities when using attachments. For the Linde H50 with a load capacity of five tons, there is also a variant with a load centre of 500 millimetres. At the same time, a model with a 3.5-tonne load capacity has been added to the series. "We are thus fulfilling our customers' desire for greater variance in order to find the most suitable device for the respective application," emphasizes the product manager.

The driver's workplace has been further improved. The wide step and a soft grab handle ensure comfortable access. The truck also features the latest generation of seat and armrests (Linde Load Control), which has already been installed in the other truck models in the 12XX family. Together with the ergonomic steering wheel and the double pedals, it forms a coordinated operating unit and, like the decoupling of the mast and axles, aims to keep the operator fit and focused over a long working day. The asymmetrical mast profiles of the 12XX generation have been redesigned with regard to driver visibility and the optional cab also offers the driver a significantly improved view through large glass doors.

Linde MH has also incorporated the extensive safety equipment into the larger model series. "Protecting employees on the company premises is now a top priority in most companies. Many equipment features are therefore standard," emphasizes product expert Björn Walter, listing examples such as the electronic seat belt monitoring system, the Linde Load Assist assistance system and the Linde Curve Assist curve-dependent speed reduction system. Lighting solutions such as TruckSpot, VertiLights or LED Stripes are optional.

Even though the X-series electric forklift trucks will offer an equivalent alternative in terms of performance in this load capacity class in the future, which can even be operated in a climate-neutral manner when using "green electricity", the current combustion engines can at least improve their energy balance by increasing their handling capacity. This was the result of the company's own TOP performance test, which was approved by TÜV Nord. Björn Walter: "We are seeing improvements in pallet handling per hour, which should add up to a noticeable reduction in fuel costs over days, months and years."
