Elokon wins award for safety system

Elokon, developer and supplier of safety and assistance systems, is delighted to have received an award for ELOprotect. ELOprotect, a safety system for narrow-aisle warehouses, was named the winner in the Industrial Vehicles & Ancillary Products category at this year's BITA Design4Safety Awards, which took place during the IMHX supply chain and logistics trade fair in Birmingham.

The system was able to prevail against a number of applicants. The aim of the awards is to recognize outstanding design and innovation achievements by manufacturers and service providers to make the material handling industry safer. The winning entries were selected based on the strongest measurable contribution to safety awareness or accident rate reduction achieved by the design.

More safety in narrow aisles
ELOprotect is designed to ensure maximum accident prevention in warehouses when industrial vehicles are working in close proximity to human workers. The laser-based system monitors danger zones around forklift trucks and is automatically activated when a forklift truck enters the narrow aisle. If it detects people, other forklift trucks or obstacles, visual and acoustic warnings are issued to pedestrians and drivers and the vehicle is automatically brought to a standstill. Elokon Managing Director Alexander Glasmacher comments: "We are delighted with this third major award for ELOprotect in as many years, following the Best of Industry Award 2017 and the UK FLTA Safety Award 2018. They all recognize and reinforce our important contribution and commitment to greater safety in the warehouse and are very important for us and our customers."
