The finalist in the Special Vehicle category is the electrically powered Combi-CBE4 with a load capacity of 4,000 kg. This model is the world's first multidirectional counterbalance truck with a drive on all three wheels. The product features a unique innovation from Combilift; 100% traction control. This means that no differential lock is required on slippery surfaces. By entering the wheelbase parameters, the traction commands are calculated by the control system. During operation, the speed and direction of rotation of the wheels are controlled independently, allowing the truck to negotiate tight bends without tire wear.

The Combi-CS was nominated in the Warehouse Truck "Lowlifter" category. It is the only pedestrian counterbalance truck that can operate in a conventional reach truck aisle for space-saving and productive handling. The internationally patented multi-position tiller head is a key feature of the truck for safer operation. It can be rotated left or right to position the rear drive wheel so that the operator remains at the side of the machine rather than at the rear, as is the case with other pedestrian stackers. This ensures optimum visibility of the load and the surrounding area, guaranteeing maximum safety in areas where other people may be present.

The IFOY Awards will enter the next round in mid-February, when industry experts and 27 trade journalists from leading logistics media in 19 countries will test the nominated devices and evaluate them according to qualities such as technology, design, ergonomics, safety, marketability, customer benefits and sustainability.

"Following the nomination for the Combi-PPT pedestrian pallet truck last year, we are delighted that the IFOY committee has selected two of our innovative products as finalists in 2020," said Martin McVicar, CEO and co-founder of Combilift.
