Yale expands its range of flexible warehouse trucks

The new order picking truck was presented at LogiMAT 2024. In dynamic warehouse and intralogistics applications, it is designed to contribute to optimized picking efficiency and reduce costs for loading and unloading processes on trucks.

The MO20-30X series forklift trucks offer load capacities of two to three tons and have many of the typical functions of a conventional Yale low lift order picker.

At the same time, they are characterized by additional manoeuvrability during truck loading and unloading: Orders can be picked and loaded directly onto a truck. Thanks to the design with a new driver position and improved ground clearance, the truck can also be used on ramps. Different fork lengths and heights as well as different driving modes contribute to flexibility.

Time saving: reloading process is no longer necessary

"The new order picking pallet truck from Yale is a multi-purpose solution that offers companies more flexibility. You can reduce the number of forklifts needed in the warehouse and speed up processes," explains Robert O'Donoghue, Vice President Marketing Solutions, Yale Lift Truck Technologies. Not having to transfer loads from one forklift to another saves time. "Warehouses need to find ways to pick faster and more efficiently, not least because retail and e-commerce continue to grow," says O'Donoghue. "If intralogistics companies rethink how they build and deploy their fleets, they can complete picking jobs on time while managing rising costs."

Different versions for different applications

According to the manufacturer, particular emphasis was placed on the ergonomic design of the new order picking truck to enable the driver to work efficiently. The driver can position himself on a large platform. This offers an optimum view of the warehouse environment during every journey.

With the adjustable Scooter Control, the driver can easily adjust the height to suit their needs. The tiller head ensures effortless operation. "To meet the requirements of different intralogistics environments, the new order picker truck must offer a wide range of options," explains O'Donoghue. "For example, it can be configured with the Yale Smart Lift function, which allows the operator to lift loads and move the pallet truck even before the pallet is fully raised. New operators often appreciate this as a very helpful addition that increases productivity."

A cab is also available on request, in which the battery and engine compartment are located behind the driver. To improve the driving experience, various integrated lights and ergonomic handles with additional function buttons for lifting and lowering make pallet handling easier when loading the truck. A model for use in cold stores is also available. A fleet management solution is also available with the Yale Vision telematics system.
