Schierer Baustoffe produces and supplies building materials at the company's headquarters in Cham. A Linde electric forklift truck has been in use here for several years now, and with well over 20,000 operating hours, it is still going strong. Company owner Bernhard Schierer decided last year to replace an old diesel forklift truck. Andreas Krehbiel, Beutlhauser sales consultant, suggested a Linde H80D/1100 diesel forklift truck from the 396 series.

The new vehicle is not only characterized by its high load capacity of eight tons, but also by the Durwen attachment that has been installed on the vehicle. A clamp fork, which can transport wire coils weighing up to five tons, makes the forklift the ideal support in the warehouse and in the in-house iron bending shop.

The eight-tonne truck is also ideal for transporting steel mesh, which Schierer produces in-house. A magnetic mat gripper, which was also supplied by attachment manufacturer Durwen, is used to handle the construction steel mats. With the delivery of the H80D, the site in Cham is now fully equipped with Linde forklifts of all types. Schierer was impressed by the high stability of the truck, even with a high load center of gravity. Nevertheless, the truck is compact enough to equip the iron bending shop.

"The vehicles are well maintained thanks to regular servicing by Beutlhauser and the customer's own workshop," says company owner Bernhard Schierer. High availability of the truck and low operating costs in the long term were particularly important to Schierer.
