Stuart Murdoch replaces Harry Sands at the helm of Hyster-Yale

Harry Sands, Senior Vice President and Managing Director EMEA at the Hyster-Yale Group, is retiring after almost 40 years of service. His successor is Stewart D. Murdoch.

Harry Sands joined the Hyster-Yale Group in 2015 as Senior Vice President and Managing Director EMEA. He joined Hyster in 1980 and was initially Plant Manager at the Craigavon plant in Northern Ireland. In 1989, he became Plant Manager in Craigavon for the Hyster-Yale Group. In 1998, Sands moved to Nijmegen, the Netherlands, as Plant Manager. In 2001, he was appointed Vice President European Manufacturing and Logistics before taking over as Managing Director for EMEA in 2015.

New Senior Vice President and Managing Director

Stewart D. Murdoch, who joined the Hyster-Yale Group on September 9, 2020 as the future Senior Vice President and Managing Director EMEA, assumed the position on October 1, 2020. Murdoch brings over 25 years of international experience in bulk materials handling and industrial process automation. He has held board and operational management positions in Europe and the UK, including Vice President of Schenck Process Group, Germany, and UK Managing Director/GM & Head of EMEA North and Australasia for the Swiss Habasit Group.

Murdoch says of his new role: "The Hyster-Yale Group is a great, agile company. I am impressed by its capabilities, broad customer base, strong products, global presence and distribution network, and strong brands. I am very excited to lead the company's EMEA region into the next phase of its strategic development."
