Quarterly figures
KION Group continues to grow
The KION Group is still on course for growth after nine months of the financial year: the Group exceeded the strong prior-year period in terms of both order intake and revenue.
Between January and September, KION increased its order intake by 2.6 percent year-on-year to €6.534 billion. Order intake was driven by strong order growth in both of the Group's segments, Industrial Trucks & Services (IT&S) and Supply Chain Solutions (SCS).
Group sales achieved between January and September grew by 13.1% to 6.524 billion euros compared to the same period last year (5.770 billion euros). Both segments contributed equally to the increase in turnover. The order backlog rose by 2.0% to EUR 3.367 billion compared to the end of 2018.
"Still on track in a mixed market environment"
"In the first three quarters of 2019, we achieved significant revenue growth and a very good operating profit, to which both operating segments contributed," said Gordon Riske, Chief Executive Officer of KION Group AG. "The good results for the first nine months of the year show that the KION Group remains on track even in a mixed market environment and that the Group's resilience has been significantly strengthened."
Incoming orders rose by 13.5% to EUR 2.338 billion in the third quarter compared to the same quarter of 2018 - driven by an increase in orders in the SCS segment and continued very solid development in the IT&S segment compared to the market as a whole. The Group's quarterly sales grew by 13.9% to EUR 2.160 billion. Adjusted EBIT amounted to EUR 217.1 million, 12.6% above the previous year's figure.
