The sustainability assessment platform EcoVadis has once again certified Jungheinrich as one of the world's top companies in terms of sustainability. Within the mechanical engineering industry, Jungheinrich is among the most sustainable two percent of companies. "Our understanding of sustainability is the foundation on which we create lasting value," explains Dr. Lars Brzoska, CEO of Jungheinrich AG. "Jungheinrich combines social and ecological responsibility with profitable growth. The fact that we have once again been awarded Gold status by EcoVadis for our commitment to corporate responsibility is an important confirmation of our work."

In its certification process, EcoVadis differentiates between the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Jungheinrich was able to further improve in all areas compared to previous years. EcoVadis particularly recognizes Jungheinrich's commitment to environmental protection. Jungheinrich has been continuously improving the product eco-balance of its trucks for years. The carbon footprint of an average industrial truck has been reduced by 38 percent during this time. According to the company, Jungheinrich is a pioneer in electromobility. In 2019, 97 per cent of all units produced by Jungheinrich were electric trucks, a rapidly growing proportion of which were equipped with modern lithium-ion technology. Over its lifetime, an electric forklift truck with a lithium-ion battery emits around 52 per cent less carbon dioxide than a diesel forklift truck of the same load class. "Jungheinrich will continue to expand its commitment to sustainability in the future in order to create sustainable added value for customers and society. Sustainability will therefore play a special role in our corporate strategy 2025+, which we will present in November," announces Brzoska.
