Self-propelled transporter for 25 t, 40 t and 65 t
Hubtex develops platform transporters for Industry 4.0
With the SFX series, Hubtex is developing new platform transporters for load capacities of 25 t, 40 t and 65 t. The compact, self-propelled vehicles for indoor and outdoor use have a large loading area for transporting bulky, heavy loads. Thanks to its modular design, the base of the transporter can be equipped with various steering systems and a platform lift. The SFX modular system was developed for manual applications and can be upgraded to an AGV in further stages.
From July 2021, the portfolio of the leading manufacturer of custom-built industrial trucks will include the new SFX models for the 25 t (SFX-25), 40 t (SFX-40) and 65 t (SFX-65) load capacity ranges. Cross-series vehicle components and the addition of AGV functions make the series suitable for most customer requirements. Typical areas of application can be found in internal heavy-duty transportation in the automotive and aviation industries and, in particular, along the value chain in the metal industry, from foundries to trade and processing, for example in mechanical engineering.
Made for any surface
The core element of all platform transporters is the chassis and the associated steering system. A steering angle of up to 70 degrees is possible with the standard single-axle steering system on the front axle. Optionally, multi-way steering is also available for all three vehicle series for applications in which maneuvering is to be avoided. Thanks to the small turning radii, the space required by the transporter in confined production or storage areas can be further reduced. Another advantage of the new steering system is the small space requirement in the vehicle. This means that more compact designs can be realized than with the previous Hubtex models. Another important side effect is a significant reduction in energy consumption due to the higher efficiency of the electric drives and the coordinated components. While the two vehicle series up to 40 tons are planned with two axle lines, three or four axles are available in the load capacity class up to 65 tons. Flexibility on the ground is also in demand. For this reason, Hubtex offers the three SFX series 25, 40 and 65 with soft elastic tires in addition to the standard polyurethane tires. This means that they can be used on all paved floor types on a factory site - their use is not limited to indoor areas. Drive and load wheel rockers ensure level compensation on uneven floors. This means that materials are transported safely and reliably even on unfavorable ground conditions.
Modular design for individual customization
The high modularity of the new platform transporters makes the vehicles adaptable to a wide range of applications. The frame of the new SFX is divided into three fixed sections: front axle, rear axle and middle section. Variability at the interfaces of the assemblies enables order-specific length and width adaptation in line with the transport task. Prefabricated modules, such as the wheel stool or the load wheel and drive rocker, guarantee comprehensive vehicle standards. The optional lifting function is available either via cylinders or the entire platform. The hydraulic-electric cabinet can be used for all SFX series. Depending on requirements, the modular electric plates can also be flexibly expanded to include AGV functions, including retrofitting. This is where the SFX modular system benefits from the Phoenix AGV series. The prefabrication of standardized assemblies reduces working time and contributes to the short delivery times of the series.
The standard operation of the transport vehicle is simple via cable or radio remote control. Functions for integrating the platform truck into automated processes can be integrated on a customer-specific basis. The use of the communication interface in accordance with VDA 5050 will be implemented in the future. Special designs with driver's cabs and special superstructures are also possible.
