Rental Fleet Management
Gebr. Heinemann relies on rental fleet from Jungheinrich
The global travel-retail company Gebr. Heinemann is converting the intralogistics in its logistics centers to Jungheinrich trucks.
The company, which operates or supplies around 600 duty-free stores worldwide, relies on a flexible rental fleet that can be easily and quickly adapted to changes in demand. "We were looking for a partner who could optimize our industrial truck fleet. With Jungheinrich's Rental Fleet Management, we are flexible, sustainable and cost-efficient," says Dr. Dirk Schneider, CCO Gebr.
Before the collaboration began, Jungheinrich and Gebr. Heinemann jointly analyzed the existing forklift fleet. This involved identifying trucks that were previously underutilized or not being used in accordance with their equipment. Based on this analysis, the Jungheinrich sales team was able to reduce the number of trucks used by Gebr. Heinemann from 170 to 95 - a saving of around 45 percent. The provision of additional machines has been planned for seasonal peaks in demand. In the event of unexpected additional demand, Jungheinrich will deliver more forklifts within a very short time. Conversely, trucks that are no longer needed are withdrawn at short notice. The flexible system avoids overcapacity and guarantees Gebr. Heinemann a high level of availability despite the drastically reduced fleet size and significantly reduces operating costs in the logistics centers.
Christian Erlach, Chief Sales Officer at Jungheinrich AG: "Our Rental Fleet Management offers flexibility, security and transparency while sustainably reducing costs. It is therefore the perfect solution for all customers whose business is subject to seasonal fluctuations. We are very much looking forward to working with the Gebr. Heinemann team to continuously develop the fleet over the coming years."
