Multidirectional 30 t giant
Delivery of the largest Combilift C-Series model
The world's largest Combilift multidirectional stacker to leave the production lines in Monaghan has been handed over to modular data center manufacturer BladeRoom.
The giant C30.000 model with a load capacity of 30 tons is now in operation at BladeRoom's factory in central England. There it handles components for the server rooms as well as the finished products, which are comparable in size to shipping containers and can weigh up to 19 tons.
This is a "second first" for BladeRoom, as the company took delivery of the then largest C-Series truck - the C25.000 with a load capacity of 25 tons - back in 2010. This model is still in operation at another BladeRoom site, along with a number of other Combilifts with different load capacities that transport raw materials and roof units.
BladeRoom's energy-efficient data centers are prefabricated in the factory, are fully equipped and can be put into operation immediately upon delivery to the customer. They can be built and delivered a good four times faster than conventional facilities.
The challenge for BladeRoom around ten years ago was to maneuver these extremely large loads easily, quickly and safely in and around the site. Fixed cranes proved too inflexible and the sheer size of a counterbalance truck capable of moving these structures would have taken up far too much space on the shop floor. After successfully using the C25,000 over the years, and due to the increasing size and weight of the data centers, BladeRoom decided to upgrade its latest Combilift.
The C30.000 measures approximately 5 m x 5 m, has a wheelbase of 3725 mm and is equipped with a 127 kW (170 hp) John Deere diesel engine. It also has tailor-made features that enable the very oversized loads to be lifted and transported. These include four cameras (one of which is a reversing camera), two camera monitors in the cab, red danger zone lights and a tilt indicator in the cab display. Despite its size, it can be maneuvered thanks to its 4-way capability and enables a space-saving layout of the production site.
