Louis Schierholz takes over KJ Sonderanlagen

Focusing on the needs of the market: "The increasing demand for conveyor systems for the transportation of long, heavy goods made us take a close look at the new shuttle technology," explains Michael Seeger, Sales Manager at Louis Schierholz GmbH in Bremen.

As the only company on the market to offer shuttle systems for light to heavy payloads in the double-digit range, "KJ Sonderanlagen - Hebezeuge - Bühnentechnik" from Ludwigsfelde near Berlin, or KJ for short, became the focus of the conveyor technology specialist. In order to jointly benefit from expertise and synergies, a business takeover was agreed with the experts for shuttle systems and crane technology on January 1, 2019. The
brand name and the management of KJ will remain.

In surface coating and other industrial production processes, the space available for conveyor systems is a decisive cost factor. In particular, transporting heavy goods up to 14 meters long requires a lot of space. KJ's innovative shuttle technology efficiently ensures very space-saving transportation through the production process by allowing the conveyed goods to be moved both lengthways and crossways. For years, KJ has specialized in shuttle technology, which is advantageous in many respects. These shuttle systems for loads from 500 kilograms to over 40 tons now ideally complement the already wide range of services offered by Louis Schierholz GmbH.

Both partners also benefit from close cooperation in crane and hoist technology, which is fundamental to conveyor systems. In addition to high performance, the focus is on personal safety. To this end, Schierholz developed special safety equipment at an early stage that meets the stricter legal standards that have been in place since 2012. Schierholz has always been committed to exploiting all the advantages for its customers with foresight.

Thanks to the size and structure of the company, KJ and its 20 or so employees can be perfectly integrated into the Schierholz Group. The entire workforce and management were taken over on January 1, 2019, and the brand name will remain. The collaboration will be characterized by an intensive transfer of knowledge and the bundling of corporate forces in purchasing, marketing and sales, a win-win situation for both companies. "And a good basis for the goal of striving for market leadership in Europe in the medium term through our powerful sales force with the sought-after shuttle technology," says Michael Seeger, Sales Manager, Louis Schierholz GmbH. "We are delighted to have found a financially strong partner with many years of experience in Schierholz, with whom we can continue to develop our technology," says Norbert Koglin, Managing Director of KJ. "Our 'chemistry' was right from the start."
