Expansion in Parkstein
Witron inaugurates Plant II North after record investment
On September 3, system integrator Witron presented its new production plant II North - and inaugurated it at the same time. With the new 120,000 square meter production facility, the company is set for strong growth.
Until now, the company founded by Walter Winkler and his wife in 1971 (4,800 employees, almost one billion euros in turnover is expected for 2021 and Witron is also in the top 10 of the material flow top 20 system integrators industry ranking ) has had around 100,000 square meters of production space at its headquarters in Parkstein, Upper Palatinate. Following the major investment of around 200 million euros decided in 2019, the area has now more than doubled. Following the move, conveyor elements and control cabinets will be manufactured in the new Plant II North, and offices for technicians, IT and designers have also been created. Fittingly, the company is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Naturally, success stories of this magnitude also attract politicians, so it was no wonder that Bavarian Finance Minister Albert Füracker and Andreas Meier, District Administrator of Neustadt a.d. Waldnaab, among others, found their way to Parkstein. Füracker praised the Winkler family's entrepreneurship and said that the company was no longer a "hidden champion", but had long since become a "real champion".
Walter Winkler showed a video of the extensive headquarters in Parkstein, which alone employs around 2,000 people. He charmingly shared his recipe for success with the guests ("A structured life model with family and work in balance, being credible and always finding the most economical solution for the customer") and then invited those present to take a tour. But first there was a ceremony: Pastors Pausch and Tharmakkan blessed the plant. A joint lunch concluded the inauguration and presentation of the new milestone in the company's history.
