Robust and easy to install
Easychain plate chain conveyor relaunched
The Swiss company Ferag AG is equipping the new generation of the Easychain plate chain conveyor with a more robust chain derived from its "big brother" Deniway. Thanks to further technical improvements, the assembly time for the system, which is used in the healthcare sector, in pharmaceutical production and in the manufacture of foodstuffs, is significantly reduced, according to the manufacturer. At the same time, all the key advantages of the tried-and-tested Ferag product are to be retained.
Easychain is ideal for transporting light goods weighing up to 20 kilograms per running meter of conveyor line. In the production of customers such as Nestle, Mondelez or AstraZeneca, Ferag technology forms a transport bridge between first and second packaging or end of line that is virtually maintenance-free, according to the company. For the weight class above this, up to 50 kilograms, the Deniway system takes over this task. In contrast to its "bigger brother", Easychain allows for much tighter curve radii and denser layouts. In addition, the lighter system (16 kilograms per running meter of installed conveyor line) places far fewer demands on the statics if it is to be installed under the ceiling or on the wall. At the same time, the drives are much smaller: They do not have to be set up separately, but can be placed on the chain channel without much effort - maintenance-friendly. Only one drive is required for every 60 meters of track. This pays off in terms of operating and service costs. The system requires additional drives for spiral conveyors, which are used to ascend the transport path, whenever the spiral has a height of more than five meters.
The newly developed chain for the next Easychain generation is still lubricated for life. The plastic plates, which have also been redesigned and for which the Swiss material handling specialist had new tools developed, still feature the typical Easychain design in yellow-black. This means that the Ferag product is still clearly recognizable at first glance.
