Lifting gear
Compact wire rope hoists for heavy loads
Stahl CraneSystems, a Columbus McKinnon Corporation company and specialist for hoists and crane components, is launching the new SXD series, a compact wire rope hoist product range with 2-stage speed control for lifting capacities of up to 10,000 kilograms and lifting heights of up to 12 meters. The SXD (Dual Speed) pole-changing wire rope hoist is a further development of the SH wire rope hoist and is designed to impress with its simple and proven technology.
Single-girder overhead travelling cranes with the compact SXD wire rope hoists move parts and components weighing up to 10 tons, even in small production halls and confined storage areas, at lifting speeds of up to 6 m/min in the main hoist (60 Hz). The SXD can be conveniently operated with a wired STH control unit or with Magnetek radio controls in push-button design. The standard condition monitoring function and the reduced mechanical load thanks to a suppression function in jog mode ensure long-lasting, safe and reliable control of the hoist. The components are protected and wear is significantly reduced. The low-maintenance components of the modular SXD wire rope hoist are coordinated with each other and, according to the company, guarantee high performance and a long service life.
Lifting gear with low weight
Thanks to a gearbox with lifetime lubrication, the lightweight wire rope hoist works reliably and is virtually maintenance-free. Depending on the equipment selected, the hoist only weighs around 540 kg with a load capacity of 10,000 kg, making it one of the lightest in this performance class worldwide. Its optimized, slim frame design simplifies installation and commissioning considerably. Specialist knowledge is not required and training is minimal. The optimized drive shaft with adjustable flange area facilitates on-site adjustment.
The SXD wire rope hoist offers a range of safety functions that reduce wear and increase versatility. These include an optimized rope guide with integrated finger protection on the guide pulleys of the hook block and the low-maintenance brake, which operates with low wear and requires no adjustment thanks to the motor management system. With its permanent electronic load monitoring, the SXD avoids load peaks when lifting heavy weights. In the event of an overload, a safe shutdown follows immediately.
SXF: Safety brake system and multicontroller
With the frequency-controlled SXF wire rope hoist, a continuously adapting safety braking system and the SMC 4 multicontroller provide additional safety. This permanently monitors important technical operating data and, among other things, automatically determines the resulting load spectrum. Communication takes place via a serial Modbus interface. The Impulse-G+ Mini frequency inverters ensure compliance with safe operating limits. The braking system, which is fully integrated into the frequency inverter, also ensures smooth and quiet operation for the user.
Quick installation using the plug-and-play principle
Both the SXD with pole-changing and the frequency-controlled SXF are available as individual wire rope hoists or as part of the CraneKits from Stahl CraneSystems for the installation of suspension cranes and overhead cranes. According to the supplier, this is particularly interesting for crane manufacturers and system builders who are looking for simple, safe and reliable solutions. Thanks to the system's uncomplicated plug-and-play principle, the electrical components can also be installed quickly and just as easily, according to the company.
