New tenant at Budapest Airport
cargo-partner moves to BUD Cargo City
Budapest Airport welcomes another new tenant to BUD Cargo City: cargo-partner Kft. The airport's long-standing partner will move into the new freight forwarding center, construction of which began at the end of January 2019. The handover to the tenants is scheduled for the end of 2019.
The new logistics center will have a 7,500 m² warehouse with an office mezzanine and a three-storey office building. It will provide ideal conditions for air freight forwarders. The total investment of around 32.6 million euros is being financed entirely by Budapest Airport.
cargo-partner Kft. is one of the first tenants of the freight forwarding center. With the move to BUD Cargo City, the company is expanding its warehouse space to 1,200 m² and its office space to more than 400 m². With over 130 locations in 30 countries worldwide, cargo-partner offers its customers tailor-made solutions for the entire spectrum of info-logistics in the areas of air, sea and road transportation as well as warehousing services. The company has been operating at Budapest Airport since 1994 and is now one of the leading logistics companies in Hungary.
"We were enthusiastic about the BUD Cargo City project right from the start and were convinced that we wanted to be one of the first tenants in the new logistics center. This gives us the opportunity to offer our partners an improved, faster, more cost-effective and therefore more competitive service," said Attila Becze, Regional Director of cargo-partner Kft. and responsible for the Hungarian and Romanian activities.
René Droese, Director Property and Cargo at Budapest Airport, emphasized: "We are continuously working to strengthen Budapest Airport's role as the air cargo hub for Central and Southeastern Europe. The aim of BUD Cargo City is to create a space where different companies from the air cargo sector can work together effectively under one roof and organize their daily work more efficiently." "We warmly welcome cargo-partner Kft. and are particularly pleased to welcome a long-term partner," added Droese.
BUD Cargo City is scheduled to be handed over to the tenants at the end of 2019. This will also include a new 20,000 m² cargo handling building, which was built directly next to the 32,000 m² cargo apron with space for two Boeing B-747-8F freighters. The BUD Cargo City project is part of the BUD 2020 airport development program, under which Budapest Airport is investing 160-180 million euros of its own funds in the development of the airport.
