Geek+ automates order picking for German 3PL provider Bergler

Geek+, provider of AMR technologies, is pleased to announce that German logistics service provider Bergler Industrieservices has placed its trust in Geek+'s picking and putaway solution, which is now fully operational at Bergler's new logistics center in Erlensee, not far from the German transport hub of Frankfurt.

Bergler's success is based on providing high quality logistics services, including order fulfillment and returns management, to German and international e-commerce players. To modernize its picking and putaway processes, Bergler chose Geek+'s P-800 picking AMRs and a sophisticated warehouse management system. By automating the picking process, Bergler is able to leverage its significant advantages and expertise to provide a first-class service to its customers.

This know-how is based on experience from the production sector, among other things, so that Bergler Industrieservices can offer its customers value-added services such as component assembly, quality control, packaging and much more in addition to the typical fulfillment tasks.

The automated picking system is therefore a great help for the 40 or so employees who have been picking, packing and shipping a large number of orders for customers of various e-commerce providers every day since the move to the 11,000 m2 site in Erlensee in 2019. Bergler's warehouse employees are now at the center of the inbound and outbound delivery processes and enjoy much more comfortable conditions. The P800 brings the racks to the operator at the workstation and then returns the racks to an optimum position. This saves countless hours that would otherwise have to be spent traversing the huge site.

Saverio Carella, Sales Director DACH at Geek+, said: "We really enjoyed working with Bergler to make this project a reality. Together we have created a modern logistics center that represents the best of what AMR technology and expertise has to offer. Bergler, its employees and its customers will benefit from this modernization."

Thanks to the integration of advanced robot technology, picking is not only faster, more convenient and more accurate, but the storage density is also significantly higher thanks to the low profile and small footprint of the AMRs. This gives Bergler more freedom to grow its operations and expand its business horizons.

Bergler CEO Raimund Bergler said: "We have been looking forward to the Geek+ robotic solution for some time and we are delighted with the results. The picking robots will allow us to enter a new phase in our development and ensure that we can continue to guarantee our customers an extremely high level of service."
