Witron continues to grow
Witron can look back on a successful financial year: The company achieved sales growth of six percent, created 400 additional jobs and concluded numerous contracts with existing and new customers.
Witron generated a total turnover of 546 million euros in the past financial year, with services accounting for more than 30% of total turnover, and the trend is rising. Witron Service GmbH & Co. KG currently employs 2,000 people worldwide. "90% of them are an integral part of our customers' daily warehouse operations in 41 on-site teams in 10 countries, where they cover a wide range of services," explains Service Managing Director Christian Dietl. "Witron has evolved once again as a general contractor - into a logistics service provider. Our task is to plan and implement systems and operate them optimally for our customers in the long term - the best WITRON we can be for our customers".
Committed employees and innovative solutions as the basis for success
The intralogistics expert now employs 3,500 people, more than 1,500 of whom work at the company headquarters in Parkstein. Last year, the company was able to create a good 100 more jobs in the region. "The key success factors are the loyalty, commitment and high quality of work of our employees," says Martin Stich, Technical Managing Director at Witron. "In times of a highly competitive labor market, it is our goal and our responsibility as an employer to offer our colleagues meaningful tasks and future-oriented social benefits and to retain them at Witron in the long term."
The company has well-filled order books. 70% of incoming orders were generated in Europe, 30% in North America. 90% of incoming orders come from the retail and distribution sectors - with a focus on food retail. With a variety of system modules for different sectors and applications, the Parkstein-based company believes it is well equipped to meet all future requirements. "Our OPM system remains the benchmark in food retail automation worldwide. The current fourth system generation contains a wide range of functionalities that guarantee our customers comprehensive end-to-end transparency inside and outside the logistics center," explains Managing Director Helmut Prieschenk, who is responsible for sales of Witron logistics systems. The company was also able to celebrate the sale of the 1,000th COM machine - the heart of the Witron OPM system.
