Viastore expands Neher's logistics capacities
Viastore has received an order from leading insect screen manufacturer Neher: At the company's headquarters in Frittlingen, Baden-Württemberg, larger logistics capacities are being created. The viadat Warehouse Management System (WMS) will also control all future processes and manage the existing and new warehouse areas in a standardized manner. Viastore's planning and consulting team is also supporting Neher with the introduction of new warehouse technology.
Neher Systeme GmbH & Co KG specializes in custom-made insect screen solutions for windows and doors. In order to be able to respond to every installation situation and individual requirements, the range includes not only standard products, but also numerous special designs. Production requires a wide range of materials, from long goods to pallets and small parts to various fabrics. This also makes the internal material flow at Neher extremely complex.
The existing warehouse had reached its capacity limit and could no longer meet current requirements. Neher therefore decided to expand the site - with the help of intralogistics specialist Viastore: the Stuttgart-based company carried out a feasibility study and detailed planning of the logistics concept to determine the most suitable overall solution for the manufacturer and provided support during implementation. The existing automated long goods warehouse will be significantly expanded, and a manual long goods and shelving warehouse as well as a pallet warehouse will also be created. Overall, this will roughly double Neher's storage capacity.
The flow of goods with many different parts and sizes will in future be managed by the viadat 9.3 Warehouse Management System (WMS). In contrast to the software previously used, this can map the entire order structure and offers all the necessary functionalities. viadat will in future control all work and material flow processes and manage all automatic and manual warehouse areas at Neher in a standardized and transparent manner.
With this solution, the insect screen manufacturer not only benefits from a significantly higher storage capacity and thus the basis for further growth - it also receives planning, implementation support and software from a single source.
