We are transferring the service of calibration, a classic laboratory activity, to an industrial production environment. This is where proven quality meets efficiency," said Raimund Föhrenbacher, Managing Director of Testo Industrial Services GmbH, at the opening ceremony. In order to make the company's processes more efficient, several calibration laboratories, a large order processing department and the logistics areas have been brought together in the new building. Unitechnik Systems GmbH was heavily involved in the project as part of the design of the material flow. The high-bay warehouse developed by the automation expert can manage more than 7,000 containers with test equipment using a shuttle system. The planning of the container conveyor technology and the UniWare warehouse management software also came from the Wiehl-based supplier. One challenge here was to integrate the intralogistics into the new building as discreetly and space-savingly as possible so as not to create a factory-like feel in the new company building.
