Fileni supplies major customers and supermarkets. With a turnover of 340 million euros and 1,800 employees, the company claims to be the third largest producer and marketer of poultry meat in Italy - and the largest when it comes to organic poultry meat.

Within 18 months, TGW implemented an efficient system for refrigerated products. At the heart of the intralogistics solution: over 100 Stingray shuttles, which ensure fast storage and retrieval over 27 levels and at temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees Celsius. The orders are transported from the warehouse, provided with all product information and sequenced for palletizing.

The poultry meat specialist also relied on TGW for the software. The intralogistics specialist implemented the WMS and the control system. The distribution system has a throughput capacity of around 5,000 cartons per hour. "Thanks to the high degree of automation, Fileni can sustainably reduce its process costs and increase the efficiency per operator. This puts the company in an ideal position for further growth," emphasizes Matteo Righini, Managing Director at TGW Italia.
