Siemens Mobility AG, which is active in the fields of rail vehicles and rail automation solutions, will be moving into its new warehouse building in the former Halba halls in the coming months.

"Siemens Mobility AG is having Swisslog install the innovative AutoStore bin storage system to automate the storage and picking of small parts. We are very pleased about this order. With our agile local implementation and service teams, we can implement the system for Siemens very quickly and efficiently," says Dr. Christian Baur, CEO of Swisslog.

The main components of the automated logistics solution in Wallisellen: An AutoStore storage system with 10,000 bins and four robots, which will be installed in the basement for optimal use of space. Ergonomic picking stations on the first floor with plenty of daylight are designed to offer employees comfort. A container conveyor system in the basement and first floor with a connecting container lift, as well as the Swisslog SynQ software, which controls the robotics, conveyor technology and picking stations, should ensure efficiency.

"Thanks to the new solution, we can ideally supply our service locations from the Wallisellen conurbation, need less storage space and increase efficiency. By separating the warehouse in the basement from the pick-up point on the first floor, we enable our employees to work in daylight, which is of course very important for their working comfort," says Gerd Scheller, CEO of Siemens Mobility AG. "The project is progressing very well and we are confident that we will be able to ramp up to full capacity this year."
