The acquisition of the ninth Group company is expected to be completed at the beginning of December 2021. Modumaq, headquartered in Toledo, Spain, specializes in automated intralogistics solutions for customers in Europe and South America.

With the acquisition of the Modumaq Group, SCIO Automation now includes nine medium-sized automation specialists with locations in eight countries worldwide, which goes hand in hand with SCIO's internationalization strategy. "Right from the start, we set ourselves the goal of not only expanding our service portfolio, but also growing internationally and further strengthening our market position," says Michael Goepfarth, CEO of SCIO. "In addition to Spain, Modumaq is already very successfully represented on the South American market and offers us as a group the opportunity to expand our customer base in these regions."

Founded in 2001 and based in Toledo, Spain, Modumaq specializes in the integration of customer-specific intralogistics systems into existing process environments and develops innovative automation solutions for material flow, picking, packing, palletizing and shipping preparation. Its customers include international companies in the e-commerce, food & beverage and pharmaceutical sectors. The Spanish automation specialist complements SCIO's already extensive service portfolio in the Advanced Intralogistics division, which includes warehouse and material flow solutions and autonomous mobile robots as well as customized cleanroom and food intralogistics innovations.

"Since our foundation, we have constantly evolved with the changing requirements and needs of our customers in order to support them as a trustworthy and strong partner in the planning and implementation of their intralogistics projects," explains Modumaq CEO, Alfonso Flores García. "The merger with SCIO gives us the opportunity to complement our existing network and service portfolio with the innovative solutions within the entire group and thus continue to optimally support our customers on their way to the smart factory." Like all SCIO company brands, Modumaq will remain operationally independent and will benefit from the strategic potential of the automation platform.
