The main warehouse is currently located at the company headquarters in Rosbach, Hesse. From November 2020, Phönix will relocate its headquarters to Lützellinden near Giessen, where it will also put the newly built logistics facility into operation. In order to make optimum use of the larger storage area and achieve more efficient logistics processes, Phönix commissioned intralogistics experts Element Logic to plan and implement two AutoStore systems - one in the refrigerated area and another in the dry area of the 14,500 m² logistics hall. The modular design and the closely stacked cells of an AutoStore system make optimum use of the space. Walkways and driveways or free space for operating devices are no longer required.

The AutoStore warehouse in the refrigerated area will be built on an intermediate platform with an area of 391 m² directly for the final expansion size. In the first construction phase, this facility, which has a final expansion capacity of 7,500 containers, will initially be equipped with 5,500 containers, 5 robots and 2 conveyor ports.

The AutoStore system in the dry area is being built directly with a final size of 882 m², which enables a storage capacity of 35,500 AutoStore containers when completely filled. In Step 1, filled with 20,000 containers, 16 robots transport the goods to a total of 4 work stations, so-called conveyor ports.
